SCOUT AND GUIDE ACTIVITIES OF THE SCHOOL
Scouting is an educational movement based on open-air games. Scouts and Guides learn through play way methods, which bring integral development in a child. They become good leaders as well as good followers and true citizens of the country. They ever remain physically fit and mentally alert and morally upright. They become self-reliant and face challenges of life confidently with the motto ’Be prepared’ and ‘Service to others’. To achieve all these we have regular teaching/training sessions both in primary as well as secondary sections on every Friday during the first period. Students from class VI onwards are enrolled as Scouts and Guides and Cubs and Bulbuls at the primary level.
Some of the activities of Cubs and Bulbuls are tree decoration, den making, nest building, salad preparation etc. They are also taught how to make the maximum use of the minimum resources provided to them in case of adverse situations. Camps are held in the school as well as outside the school to test these skills. Scouts and Guides made improvised temporary tent like shelters and cooked food with the minimum resources available.
The Scouts and Guides took up a project on Rain Water Harvesting and two big tanks were installed connecting the different blocks of the school. They also took active part in the competition organized by ‘TERI’.
Drip irrigation was also taken up by Scouts and Guides by which the school garden is being watered effectively. Scouts and Guides are also given adequate training and a minimum three weeks coaching before they attend testing camps.
The most promising scouts of our school Master Pramod and Master Vinay of Class X were awarded the prestigious Rashtrapathi Puraskar for the year 2004-05. The sustained activities of Scout and Guide movement is always an interesting and amusing project for students and a solution to parents’ worries. The total change of attitude that comes in the children makes the parents and the country feel proud of them. The Scouts are being trained by Shri C Saravanan, Sri Sathya Brata Kalita, Shri Saras M. Srivastava and And Shri Madhusudan Rao and Guides by Smt.R. Saroja. The Cubs are trained by Smt. L.K.Jayashree and Smt Sangeeta Chopra and Bulbuls by Smt.Rukmini Prasad.

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth – ‘The Leaders of Tomorrow’ – into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The genesis of the NCC can be traced back to the First World War when the Britishers created the University Corps as the second line of defense and to have a large pool of trained youth available for employment into the Armed Forces.
After independence the present day NCC under the Ministry of Defence came into existence on 16 Apr 1948 through NCC act XXXI, 1948. NCC was formally inaugurated on 15 Jul 1948 as soon as the schools and colleges reopened after summer vacation. The Girls Division of the NCC was started in Jul 1949. In 1950 Air Wing was added on 01 Apr with one Air squadron each at Bombay and Kolkata. The Naval Wing of the NCC was raised in Jul 1952, thus completing the true representation of all services in the Corps. Presently, NCC has approximately 13 Lakhs Cadets under its fold.
We have registered 25 students in Junior division boys category and started NCC parades from 22 Nov , 2011. We are taking NCC parades in every Tuesday and Wednesday after school hours 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
